In the Manchester area we now have a fresh and fairly aggressive bumble bee, the Tree Bumblebee (Bombus hypnorum). Despite the fact that we seek not to harm bees, this species is unsafe when nesting low down in the garden or on the structure of your home. We do not normally really like to eliminate bees but this bee is unsafe when nested in the area of persons, especially small children and pets. Its recognizable markings, black body, the orange thorax and white backside, make it easy to pick out and we recommend getting in touch with a pest controller straightaway you suspect you might have got a nest. You shouldn’t get too close! For aid with distinguishing this species check out our wasps and bees site.
We are devotees of bees and wildlife by and large and in 2013 in order to try and help honeybees we became beekeepers ourselves and are now able to supply a little honey to our clients if we have it. Take a look at our Harrier Honey dedicated web page for more information.
