Harrier Pest Control
Plaster beetles (Lathridiidae spp.) are very small insects, usually less than 1/8” long. The colour ranges from yellowish brown to reddish brown to almost black. They feed on mould, mildew, and other types of fungus and hence are always associated with damp areas.
They are frequently found in newly built or newly plastered houses as they feed on the minute fungus growth on freshly plastered walls, hence their common name.
Pest control of this species is largely concerned with moisture control although an application of a suitable insecticide will help contain the problem until the dampness problem can be resolved.
